About Zack Wheeler
Zack Wheeler is a standout pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. Wheeler was the New York Mets top prospect when he made his 2013 big league debut.In his first-ever start, he threw six scoreless innings and struck out seven. Wheeler was 7-5 with a 3.42 ERA as a rookie. With a 3.54 ERA and 187 strikeouts in 185.1 innings, his sophomore season was also a success. Wheeler was originally the sixth overall pick of the San Francisco Giants in 2009 and traded for All-Star outfielder Carlos Beltran in 2011. While in the minors, he was selected twice for the MLB All-Star Futures Game. Wheeler dominated at East Paulding High School, compiling a 95-36 record in four years. As a senior, he went a perfect 9-0 with a 0.54 ERA and was named Georgia’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
