About Al Hrabosky
Al Hrabosky was a pitcher in the 1970s and early 1980s for the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, and Atlanta Braves. With his colorful person and unique image, “The Mad Hungarian”, left a lasting impression on the game. Hrabosky was a popular reliever during his first eight seasons in the big leagues with the Cardinals. In 1975, he led the National League with 22 saves and won the Sporting News’ NL Fireman of the Year award. He recorded 97 saves during his career and had an ERA of 3.10. In 2003, he was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Hrabosky has commentated on Cardinals games since 1985 and serves as an analyst currently with Fox Sports Midwest. He also in the past hosted a sports talk show no KFNS in St. Louis and owned a restaurant called Al Hrabosky’s Ballpark Saloon across from Busch Stadium. Hrabosky lends his charitable efforts towards the St. Louis Zoo, Angel Arms, and Fox Sports Midwest’s work with The Mission Continues.
