About Eric Byrnes
Eric Byrnes was a reliable outfielder over 11 big league seasons. Byrnes was a defensive player and also flashed some power at the plate. He came up with the Oakland A’s and had his best season in 2004, hitting .283 with 20 homeruns and 73 RBI. Byrnes also had several standout campaigns with the Arizona Diamondbacks, hitting over 20 homers while stealing 50 bases in 2007. He built his baseball career as a star at UCLA and is a member of the school’s athletic Hall of Fame. His colorful personality led to a natural place in broadcasting upon his retirement. Byrnes had several spot assignments on TV and radio during his career. He is currently an analyst for the MLB Network and has also been a radio host on KNBR in San Francisco. Burns has also become an Ironman Triathlete.
