About Tom McCarthy
Tom McCarthy is a beloved broadcaster best known as the primary television play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Phillies. Since taking over the role in 2009 from longtime voice Harry Kalas, he has become a fixture on Phillies TV broadcasts. Previously, McCarthy served as a play-by-play announcer and pre-/post-game host on Phillies radio from 2001 to 2005, and spent two seasons (2006–2007) calling New York Mets radio games on WFAN. He began his broadcasting career with the Double-A Trenton Thunder (1994–1999). In addition to his baseball work, McCarthy calls NFL games on Westwood One radio and covers select NFL, NBA, and college basketball and football games for CBS.
