About Roberto Duran
Roberto Duran is one of the greatest boxers of all time. When Roberto was only eight years old he began sparring with experienced boxers at the Neco de La Guardia gymnasium and he made his professional debut at the young age of 16 eight years later in 1968. Roberto fought a total of 119 fights across his long career, with 104 wins and only 16 losses. Duran became only the second boxer to have fought during a span of five decades. He won many titles including the WBC Middleweight Championship and WBA Light Middleweight Championship. Duran received the Ring Magazine Comeback of the Year honors in 1983 and 1989. Throughout Duran's long career he was trained by legendary boxer Ray Arcel. Roberto finally retired after he was involved in a bad car accident in October of 2001. Retiring at the age of 50, Roberto recorded 69 KOs over his illustrious career.
