About Antonio Tarver
“The Magic Man” Antonio Tarver is one of the most successful boxers in the modern era. Tarver is a former WBC, WBA, IBF and The Ring Light Heavyweight Champion. He is 30-6 in his career. Tarver rose to prominence by winning the bronze medal for the U.S. at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He is the only boxer to win the Pan Am Games, National Championships, and World Championships in the same year. The pinnacle of his career came during two fights with Roy Jones Jr. Tarver lost the first bout, but knocked Jones out in the second round of the second fight to win two championship belts. He would also win a third and final fight against Jones. Tarver went Hollywood in 2006, starring as heavyweight champ Mason “The Line” Dixon in Rocky Balboa. Tarver was born in Orlando, Florida, but resides in Tampa. His son, Antonio Jr., is also a professional boxer.
