About Ray Shero
Ray Shero has been the general manager of the New Jersey Devils since 2015. Shero is credited with building a Pittsburgh Penguins franchise that is one of the NHL's elite teams. He served as general manager of the franchise from 2006-2014. Shero was instrumental in adding pieces around superstar Sidney Crosby that led the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cup appearances in 2008 and 2009. The team won the title in seven games in 2009. The Penguins carried on the legacy that Shero built by winning consecutive Cups in 2016 and 2017. Before joining Pittsburgh, he was the assistant general manager of the Ottawa Senators. He held the same position for the expansion Nashville Predators from 1998-2006. Shero played college hockey at St. Lawrence University and was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1982, but never played in the NHL.
