About Michael Moorer
Michael Moorer is a former heavyweight and light-heavyweight champion boxer. Moorer is one of just four boxers to win titles in both weight classes. He also had longevity. Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, and Lennox Lewis are the only other men to have won one or more different heavyweight belts three separate times. Moorer was 52-4-1 in his career with 40 knockouts. In his first year as a professional, he won 11 fights and captured the WBO light-heavyweight title. Three years later Moorer would move up to the heavyweight ranks. His defeat of Evander Holyfield in 1994 made him the first lefty heavyweight champ ever. Moorer is also known as losing is undefeated record and the belts he had acquired to 45 year old George Foreman. That win made Foreman the oldest-ever heavyweight belt holder. After a few comebacks, Moorer retired from boxing in 2008. He currently resides in Monessen, Pennsylvania and travels around the country training fighters.
