About Ray Mancini
Ray Mancini, also known as Boom Boom, is a retired professional boxer. Boxing is in Manicinis blood since his father was also an accomplished fighter. This inspired Ray to get started at a young age where he had a 43-7 record as an amateur before making it to the highest levels of the sport. Ray fought in 34 fights where he won 29 of them and thus earned the World Boxing Association lightweight championship in 1982, a title he held until 1984. Ray was a part of some fierce battles that resulted in 23 knockouts for his winning record, but also included a loss where he needed 71 stitches around one eye. After a very successful career, Ray decided to retire at the young age of 24 and has since been in, and produced, several films including Youngstown: Still Standing. He has also gone into television work where he has been a fight analyst for the FOX reality series Celebrity Boxing.
