About Buster Douglas
Buster Douglas is a former undisputed World Heavyweight Champion that boasted a career 38-6 overall boxing record. Douglas was a multi-sport athlete in high school and played basketball at Coffeyville Community College and Sinclar College from 1977 to 1980 before turning his focus to boxing. Known as the “Desert Fox” in his younger days, Douglas’ boxing ability was evident from the start, as he worked his way up to being the No. 1 contender for the Heavyweight title throughout the 1980’s. In 1986 he won the International Boxing Federation championship and successfully defended his title four times before taking on Mike Tyson in 1990 for the undisputed World Heavyweight title. Although he was an underdog to the undefeated Tyson, he managed a knockout and achieved his life’s ambition of becoming the top heavyweight fighter in the world. Douglas retired in 1999 as one of the greatest Heavyweight fighters of all-time.
