About John Korir
John Korir is a Kenyan elite runner and two-time Boston Marathon champion. He rose to global prominence by winning the 2024 Chicago Marathon in 2:02:44. He then claimed back-to-back Boston Marathon titles in 2025 and 2026. In 2026, he defended his crown in historic fashion, shattering the course with a time of 2:01:52, setting a record for the fastest finish in the race’s 130-year history and one of the quickest marathons ever. He follows in the footsteps of his older brother Wesley Korir, who won Boston in 2012, making them the first siblings to both claim the title. He is ranked among the world’s top marathoners and is an ASICS athlete.
