Caitlyn Jenner

Caitlyn Jenner is an inspiration to transgender people worldwide.  Jenner made the transition to being a woman in 2015 after a life in the public eye as one of America's most celebrated male athletes.  

When known as Bruce Jenner, she won a gold medal in the decathlon at the 1979 Olympics.  Jenner's performance in Montreal set a new world record with 8,616 points and kickstarted a several decades long run as a sucessful corporate spokesperson, motivational speaker, and actor.  

Four years later she was inducted into the United States Track and Field Hall of Fame and in 1986 she was inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame. 

As an actor she appeared in several television shows and movies, and she even pursued a career in automobile racing. Jenner saw a resurgence in popularity for her role in the E! realty series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which focuses on the lives of her former wife Kris Jenner, daughters Kylie and Kendall, step son Rob, and stepdaughters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe Kardashian.

Now, Jenner is working to bring wider recognition and acceptance for the transgender community.  In July 2015, she was given the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs for how openly she has shared her story.
