Jacob Markstrom Biography

Jacob Markstrom is one of the top goaltenders in the NHL, currently with the Calgary Flames. Markstrom previously spent seven seasons with the Vancouver Cancucks, where he was named an All-Star for the first time in 2020. Markstrom had his best year with the Flames in 2022, going 37-15 posting a 2.22 goals against average and nine shutouts. He was named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy. Big things were expected from Markstrom ever since he was selected in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers. He originally made his debut for the Panthers in 2011, becoming the youngest goalie ever in net for the franchise.
