About Alec Martinez
Alec Martinez is a defenseman for the Los Angeles Kings. Martinez has spent parts of five seasons with the Kings, winning Stanley Cups in 2012 and 2014. His notable postseason moments were the heroics he flashed to close out two series in 2014. Martinez’s goal in overtime of Game 7 gave the Kings the Western Conference Finals win over the Chicago Blackhawks. In the Stanley Cup Final, he also got a game winner that won the Cup in overtime of Game 5 against the New York Rangers. The Kings drafted Martinez out of Miami University in 2007. He earned All-CCHA First Team honors in his final season with the RedHawks. Martinez was born in Rochester Hills, Michigan, but grew up playing hockey in Northern California before returning to Michigan.
