About Kathryn Tappen
Kathryn Tappen was born April 9, 1981 and is an American sportscaster who works as a host and reporter for NBC Sports Group, covering NHL Live, Football Night in America, Notre Dame Football, and more. She joined NBC Sports Group as part of NBC Olympics' coverage of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, and NBC Sports’ coverage from Super Bowl XLIX.[1]and will join NBC Olympics’ production of the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2018 Pyeongchang.
In 2006, Tappen joined New England Sports Network (NESN), where she served as studio host for Boston Bruins games and as a lead anchor for SportsDesk. Tappen left NESN in 2011 for the NHL Network.
In 2014, Tappen hosted hockey on NBC Sports during the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi for her first Olympic assignment. She also filled in for Liam McHugh on NHL Live at times during 2014 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs on NBC Sports Network.
