Dalton Knecht

Dalton Knecht stands out as an electrifying guard who demonstrates outstanding shooting skills and scoring talent and versatile court performance. Knecht started his basketball career in Thornton Colorado after high school when his basketball abilities became evident. He spent two years at Northeastern Junior College following graduation to build his skills and acquire important playing experience.

During his second year at the University of Northern Colorado Knecht established himself as the Big Sky Conference's leading scorer in the 2022–23 season. His outstanding play at the collegiate level attracted national recognition which led him to join the University of Tennessee for his last year of eligibility.

Knecht reached unprecedented heights during his time at Tennessee by scoring 21.7 points while grabbing 4.9 rebounds and distributing 1.8 assists per game. The SEC Player of the Year award together with consensus All-American selection and Julius Erving Award for the nation's top small forward went to Knecht because of his sharpshooting skills and ability to create offense. The team's competitive season depended heavily on Knecht's leadership together with his scoring abilities.

During the 2024 NBA Draft the Los Angeles Lakers picked Knecht as their 17th overall selection. The rookie season brought immediate success for him as he scored 37 points in a game against the Utah Jazz while displaying his scoring abilities. The Lakers value Knecht because he extends their offense through three-point shooting which makes him an important addition to their lineup for future development.
