About Alex Martins
Alex Martins is a successful American sports executive who has worked his way up through the Orlando Magic organization. Martins has served as the CEO of the Magic since 2011 and has also been in the role of president and COO in recent years. He started his Magic career as the director of publicity/media relations in 1989. Martins was pivotal in the effort to get the Amway Center built in Downtown Orlando. For a period of time, Martins left the franchise and held positions with the New Orleans Hornets, Cleveland Browns, and Tavistock Cup. As a well-respected member of the Orlando community, he serves on many advisory boards, including the UCF Board of Trustees. Martins got his MBA from UCF and did his undergrad work at Villanova University. He began his career in the sports information office at Villanova and also worked in the Philadelphia 76ers public relations department.
