Al Horford

Al Horford is an All-Star forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Horford previously spent three seasons with the Boston Celtics and one season with the Philadelphia 76ers. He started his career with the Atlanta Hawks and led them to the playoffs six times in his seven seasons. His versatility has been key to the sustained success of the franchise. Atlanta originally selected him third overall in the 2007 NBA Draft. Horford was a member of the greatest basketball recruiting class in University of Florida history. The group led the Gators to back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, Horford was an All-American and scored over 1,000 points in his UF career. Horford was born in the Dominican Republic, but attended high school in Michigan, where he was a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com. He has played internationally for the Dominican. His father, Tito, played three seasons in the NBA. Horford’s wife, Amelia, was the first Dominican woman to ever win Miss Universe. He has developed several charitable initiatives and works with charities in the Dominican Republic.
