About Doc Rivers
Doc Rivers has had a successful life in basketball and is best known today for his 25-plus years as an NBA head coach. Rivers is the current head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Before taking over the Bucks, he led the Philadelphia 76ers to three straight playoff appearances from 2021-23.
Rivers spent seven seasons as the Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations for the Los Angeles Clippers.He posted a winning record each year and missed the playoffs just once.
Rivers had the greatest success of his coaching career with the Boston Celtics, leading them to the NBA title in 2008. His first coaching job was with the Orlando Magic, where he made a splash in his debut campaign by winning NBA Coach of the Year honors.
As an NBA player, Rivers was a 2nd round pick out of the University of Marquette in 1983, and went on to play for the Atlanta Hawks, Clippers, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs until 1996, earning an All-Star appearance in 1988.
