About Isiah Thomas
Isiah Thomas is a retired professional point guard in the NBA. Thomas attended Indiana University where he played basketball for the Hoosiers. Bob Knight and Thomas did not see eye to eye, Thomas had to learn how to adjust to Knight’s disciplinarian style of play. Over time, Thomas adjusted his play and became one of Knight’s and Hoosier fans favorite player. The Detroit Pistons selected Thomas in the 1st round as the 2nd overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft. In his first year with the Pistons, Thomas was selected to the All-Rookie Team in the 1982 All-Star Game. In his playing career, Thomas has won 2 NBA Finals and he was an NBA Finals MVP in 1990. He has also been a 12x NBA All-Star, 2x NBA All-Star Game MVP, 3X All-NBA First Team selection and 2x All-NBA Second Team selection. In 2000, Thomas was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. After retiring from playing, Thomas has coached the Indiana Pacers, New York Knocks and FIU.
