About Austin Rivers
Austin Rivers is a guard for the New York Knicks who originally gained acclaim by being one of the top prospects in high school basketball. The New Orleans Pelicans took Rivers out of Duke with the tenth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Rivers had one standout season at Duke, averaging 15.5 points per game on the way to ACC Rookie of the Year and first-team All-ACC honors. His game winning three at the buzzer won the Blue Devils a February game that year against rival North Carolina, ending the Tar Heels 31 game winning streak at the Dean Smith Center. Rivers came to Durham as the number one high school player in the country according to Rivals.com. Winter Park High School won back-to-back Florida 6A state titles his junior and senior years. Rivers is the son of Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers.
