Wayne Tinkle Biography

Wayne Tinkle left the head coaching post at his alma mater Montana to try to right the ship at Oregon State.  In his first season with the Beavers, Tinkle produced a winning record, going 17-14.  He had one of the most successful coaching records in Montana history, compiling a 158-89 record in eight seasons.  The three NCAA Tournament berths the Grizzlies had were more than any other coach in program history.  Prior to becoming the head coach, Tinkle was a Montana assistant for five seasons.  He got into coaching after a 12-year professional playing career mostly spent in Europe.
