About Anthony Grant
Anthony Grant is the head coach of the University of Dayton men's basketball team. He was previously head coach at the University of Alabama. In over five years at the helm of the Crimson Tide, Grant had over 100 victories. Under his guidance, Alabama reached the NCAA Tournament in 2012 for the first time in six years. Grant got the Tide to finish 12-6 and in second place in the SEC in 2013. Prior to his time at Alabama, he was the head coach at Virginia Commonwealth for three seasons. Grant led the Rams to three Colonial Athletic Association regular season titles. His signature moment was when 12th seeded VCU upset sixth seeded Duke to advance to the second round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament. Grant grew as a coach as Billy Donovan’s assistant for ten years at Marshall and Florida. While with the Gators, he was on a coaching staff that won the 2006 National Championship. Grant played collegiately at the University of Dayton and was at Miami Senior High School during the heyday of Stingaree basketball.
