About Bill Raftery
Bill Raftery is a current basketball analyst and a former coach. In high school Bill was a star player for the basketball team and became the all-time scoring leader breaking a 35 year old record with 2,192 points. In college he scored a record 370 points in his freshman year and had continued success in the following years. Following his playing years, Bill took on a new role. Raftery became a coach for Fairleigh Dickinson University and later coached at Seton Hall where he led the team to four post-season tournaments and two National Invitational Tournament appearances. With that success Bill earned the New Jersey Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year award in 1979. Since retiring from coaching Bill became an analyst for CBS Sports college basketball coverage for over 23 years where he became famous for his unique quotes when calling the game on the court. Bill recently signed with Fox Sports to call Big East basketball games.
