Urijah Faber

Urijah Faber, also known as "The California Kid," is a former American mixed martial artist and UFC Hall of Famer. He started his professional MMA career in 2003. Faber quickly rose to prominence in the featherweight division, capturing the WEC Featherweight Championship in 2006 and successfully defending it five times. His dynamic fighting style and charismatic personality helped popularize lighter weight classes in MMA.

After the WEC merged with the UFC, Faber continued to compete at the highest level, challenging for the UFC Bantamweight Championship four times. Despite not securing a UFC title, he remained a top contender and a fan favorite. In 2017, Faber was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of the Modern-era wing.

Outside the cage, Faber is the founder of Team Alpha Male, a renowned MMA gym based in Sacramento, California. The team has produced several UFC champions and top contenders, including Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw. Faber is also an entrepreneur, involved in various ventures related to fitness, lifestyle brands, and health food.

Faber returned to the octagon in 2019 for a brief comeback, defeating Ricky Simón by first-round TKO before retiring again after a loss to Petr Yan. He continues to be active in the MMA community as a coach, mentor, and media personality.
