Anthony Pettis Biography

Anthony Pettis is one of the most successful mixed martial artists in the world. Pettis is the current UFC Lightweight Champion and was the WEC Lightweight Champion. He is regarded as a top ten fighter in the world, coming in sixth on the UFC’s pound for pound rankings. Pettis has lost just once in the Octagon and took the lightweight belt by beating Benson Henderson at UFC 164 in 2013. As the coaches on season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter, Pettis will defend his title against Gilbert Melendez at UFC 181. Pettis won an online fan vote and will be the first MMA fighter featured on a Wheaties box in 2015. He is also a newly inked Reebok athlete. The Milwaukee native co-owns Showtime Sports Bar in his hometown. Pettis began his MMA training very early, starting boxing and taekwondo lessons at age five.
