About Fallon Fox
Fallon Fox is an American mixed martial artist, who is the first openly transgender athlete in MMA history. Fox struggled with issues regarding gender from the time she was five years old. In 2006, Fox traveled to Bangkok, where she underwent gender reassignment surgery, breast augmentation, and hair transplant surgeries. Fox came out publicly in 2013 during an interview with Cyd Zeigler from Outsports and sportsillustrated.com. There has been much controversy following Fox from her coming out, most of it came from the issue of whether a person who was born male should be able to compete in a women’s division during an MMA fight. Another issue is whether or not Fox hold an advantage over the female fighters. Fox is taking estrogen, which results in bone density, just like it results from taking testosterone. In 2014, Fox was inducted into the National Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame.
