About Benson Henderson
Benson Henderson is a professional mixed martial artist that sports a black belt in Taekwondo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu when he enters the Octagon. Henderson was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and raised in Federal Way, Washington. He began pursuing a career in the martial arts at the age of nine, and that blossomed into a successful college-wrestling career at Dana College in Nebraska, where he earned All-American honors twice. After earning his degree he turned pro in mixed martial arts in 2006 and won his first two fights. After posting a 12-2 record and winning the WEC Lightweight Championship he made his debut in the UFC and preceded to win the UFC Lightweight Championship in 2012, which e successfully defended four consecutive times. Thus far in his decorated career he has posted a 21-5 record with nine wins by submission, two by knockout and ten by decision. Henderson fights out of Glendale, Arizona as a part of the MMA Lab team and is currently considered to be one of the top five Lightweight fighters in the world.
