About Tyler Zeller
Coming from the basketball rich state of Indiana, Tyler Zeller definitely turned heads when he was named as the states Mr. Basketball following his senior season where he averaged 33.1 ppg and went on to be named a McDonalds All-American. As that years 33rd ranked player, Zeller chose to attend the University of North Carolina to play for Coach Roy Williams and the Tar Heels. After an early injury hampered his freshman season at UNC, Zeller continued to improve every season at Chapel Hill, ending his senior season averaging 16.3 ppg and 9.6 rpg. In 2012, Zeller was named ACC Player of the Year and was selected as a Second-Team All-American. He was selected 17th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks who immediately traded him over to the Cleveland Cavaliers where he spent the first two seasons of his career. Zeller saw time in the majority of the games as a rookie and sophomore, shooting .472 from the field for the Cavs before being traded to the Boston Celtics in the offseason before the 2014-2015 season.
