About Blake Griffin
Blake Griffin charted an amazing legacy in basketball as one of the brightest stars of his generation and among the greatest dunkers of all time.
Griffin’s career originally took off in high school when he led his team to four consecutive state titles. Next came college where he was a standout star. He played for the University of Oklahoma and was named the National Player of the Year in his sophomore year. After that year, Blake left Oklahoma for the 2009 NBA Draft and was selected number one overall.
After missing his first season due to an injury suffered in the final preseason game, Griffin was selected as an All-Star, won the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest, and was named NBA Rookie of the Year in his first year of play. That season started his run of five consecutive All-Star appearances.
During that early portion of his career, Griffin was a major contributor to Los Angeles Clippers' teams that were annually among the best in the Western Conference. He made his sixth All-Star appearance and was named to his fifth All-NBA team while with the Detroit Pistons in 2019.
Griffin finished his career with the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets before retiring in 2024.
