About Alex English
Alex English was a Hall of Fame forward that spent the best years of his career with the Denver Nuggets. An eight-time All-Star, English averaged 21.5 points per game over 16 seasons. He made the playoffs with the Nuggets nine straight times, is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, and his #3 jersey is retired by the team. Denver advanced to the Western Conference Finals in 1985 and not coincidentally English had his best postseason performance, averaging 30.5 points per game. No player in the NBA scored more points in the 1980s and he was the first to ever have eight straight 2000-point seasons. The Milwaukee Bucks originally drafted English and he also played for the Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks. English is a Columbia, South Carolina native and played college basketball at the University of South Carolina. Following his playing career, he has been an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, and Sacramento Kings.
