About Jim Calhoun
Jim Calhoun is the former head basketball coach at the University of Connecticut and one of the greatest coaches of all-time. Calhoun won three national championships and his teams played in four Final Fours. Only five coaches have won three or more titles in Division 1 college basketball. The Huskies won seven Big East Tournaments and ten regular season championships under his watch. Calhoun finished his career with 866 wins and is a member of both the Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Basketball Hall of Fame. His 50-19 record over 23 NCAA Tournaments with UConn and Northeastern is especially impressive. Nearly 30 players reached the NBA under his tutelage including stars like Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton, and Ben Gordon. Prior to becoming a college coach, Calhoun cut his teeth at the high school level in Massachusetts. Calhoun has focused much of his charitable efforts towards heart disease through the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center at UConn and the Jim Calhoun Holiday Food Drive. He has also been the Honorary Chairman of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
