About Jim Boeheim
As one of the true legends of college basketball, Jim Boeheim has the second most wins in NCAA Division 1 basketball history. Boeheim was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006 and the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005.He built an incredible resume while spending his entire career at his alma mater, Syracuse. Boeheim won the 2003 National Championship and participated in five Final Fours.Only three other coaches have taken their school to the Final Four in four different decades.Under Boeheim’s watch, the Orange won ten Big East regular seasons and five Big East postseason titles.
Boeheim was a player and assistant coach for the Orange before taking over the head coaching job in 1976.He was the captain of Syracuse’s second-ever NCAA Tournament team in 1965.Boeheim was also a longtime assistant coach for the U.S. men’s national team and saw the team win gold medals in 2008 and 2012.The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation helps children in the Central New York area and provides support in the fight against cancer.
