From Grand Rapids, Michigan, the 6'0", 200-pound redshirt senior attended Forest Hills Northern High School, where he threw for 1,610 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior, also earning all-state basketball honors. Initially overlooked for Division I offers, he committed to Ferris State University, where he led the Bulldogs to a 2024 Division II national championship, throwing for 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns while rushing for 1,019 yards and 25 scores.
