Charlie Weis

Charlie Weis has made a name for himself as a football coach for all levels from high school to professional. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and immediately began his coaching career at Boonton HS in New Jersey. In 1985 he jumped to the collegiate level with the University of South Carolina where he worked his way from graduate assistant up to an assistant recruiting coordinator position. After another stint at the high school level, Weis joined the New York Giants for his first professional gig. He worked his way up the coaching ladder with the Giants and then New England Patriots before being named offensive coordinator of the New York Jets and then the Patriots in 2000. In 5 seasons as the Patriots’ OC, Weis helped lead Tom Brady and Co. to 3 Super Bowl victories. Weis then jumped down to the college level as the head coach for his alma mater, Notre Dame, where he jumped off to a fast start leading the Irish to appearances in the Fiesta and Sugar Bowls in his first two seasons. After struggling at ND in the next 3 seasons, Weis jumped back up to the NFL where he served as offensive coordinator for Kansas City Chiefs. He then went to Florida to become an OC for one season before being given the head coaching position at the University of Kansas in 2012 where he stayed until 2014.
