About Jen Welter
Jen Welter is the first known female coach in the NFL. Welter joined the Arizona Cardinals as a coaching intern for the 2015 training camp and preseason. She was also the first female coach in any form of professional football when she joined the staff of the Indoor Football League’s Texas Revolution in 2015. Just a year prior, she had become the first woman to play a position outside of kicker when she lined up at running back for the Revolution. Welter played football for 14 years, mostly in the Women’s Football Alliance. She led the Dallas Diamonds to four WFA titles. Welter wears many hats as in addition to her football experience she holds a master’s degree in sports psychology and PhD in psychology. Before transitioning to the gridiron, Welter was a college rugby player at Boston College.
