About Seimone Augustus
Seimone Augustus joined the Minnesota Lynx in 2006 as the No. 1 overall pick after an All-American career at Louisiana State University. During her career at LSU she led the Tigers to three consecutive NCAA Final Four appearances, won every national player of the year award in 2005 and 2006, was named a two-time All-American and finished her career averaging 19.3 points per game over the course of her three-year career.
Augustus continued her winning ways in the WNBA, becoming a four-time champion and eight-time All-Star with the Linx. She also was WNBA Finals MVP in 2011, made the All-WNBA First Team in 2012 and was named to the WNBA 20@20 team in 2016. After spending 14 years in Minnesota, Augustus spent one final season with the Los Angeles Sparks before retiring to join their coaching staff.
Outside of the U.S., Augustus also had a decorated international career, winning two EuroCup Championships in 2008 and 2009 and being named the EuroCup MVP in 2008. In 2008 and 2012 she made the USA proud by bringing home gold medals from the Beijing and London Olympic games.
