About Jennifer Rizzotti
Jennifer Rizzotti grew up dreaming about playing basketball at the University of Connecticut. After a stellar prep career at New Fairfield High School in New Fairfield, Connecticut she made that dream come true. In 1992 she signed a basketball scholarship with the Huskies and eventually became one of the best players in the history of college basketball. During her junior year she led her home state team to a 35-0 record and an NCAA National Championship, which just so happened to be the first title in school history. The following year she was named the AP Player of the Year and won the Honda-Broderick Cup, which is awarded to the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. For her epic career at UConn she was inducted into the University of Connecticut women’s basketball “Huskies of Honor” as a member of their inaugural class. After earning her degree in biology turned her focus to coaching, She was the head coach at the University of Hartford for 17 years, winning America East Coach of the Year twice and leading her team to four America East Championships. The Hawks made six NCAA Tournament appearances under Rizzotti's watch. She has also coached the USA National Team to gold medals at the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship in 2006 and 2010 and 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship.
