About Robbie Keane
Born in Dublin, Ireland, Robbie Keane is a professional soccer player who is a captain of and striker for both the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Republic of Ireland national team. He turned pro at the young age of 17 when he played for the Wolverhampton Wanderers where he scored twice in his debut. He made his debut with the Irish national team in 1998 and has since gone on to score a total of 65 goals making him the all-time Irish scorer. More recently he has competed as a part of the LA Galaxy and led the club to a win in the 2012 MLS Cup Final. He was promoted to captain at the start of the 2013 season and on opening day he had a part in scoring all four goals in their victory against the Chicago Fire. He wound up with a career high of 19 goals and 14 assists in 29 appearances which earned him the Volkswagen MLS Most Valuable Player Award at seasons end.
