Becky Sauerbrunn Biography

Becky Sauerbrunn is a member of the U.S. women’s national soccer team.  Sauerbrunn debuted in 2008 and was on the 2011 World Cup and 2012 Olympic teams.  She currently plays for FC Kansas City and was the National Women’s Soccer League Defender of the Year in its inaugural season.  FC Kansas City went on to win the NWSL Championship in 2014.  Sauerbrunn has played for a variety of American club teams in her career.  She was a college star at Virginia, becoming the only Cavaliers player to be a three-time NSCAA All-American.  In Sauerbrunn’s senior season, she was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.  The St. Louis native was the Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year and a two-time Parade All-American at Ladue High School.
