About Ali Krieger
Ali Krieger is a member of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and a defender for the National Women’s Soccer League’s Orlando Pride. Krieger played in all 600 minutes of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup for the U.S. She has also played overseas in Germany and won the UEFA Women’s Championship League with FFC Frankfurt in 2008. Krieger is a graduate of Penn State University and starred for the Nittany Lions. While in State College, she won four Big 10 titles, was a two-time All-American, NCAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year in her senior campaign. Krieger also overcame blood clots in her lungs between her junior and senior years that caused several mini heart attacks. The unusual ailment could have threatened her life, but she returned to the pitch for her final college season. While at Forest Park High School, she was named Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Virginia.
