About Rex Walters
Rex Walters is a former NBA guard turned college coach. He currently presides over the program at the University of San Francisco. After the Dons went 21-12 in 2013-14, Walters was named West Coast Conference Coach of the Year. He previously spent one year as an assistant coach at FAU before getting the head coaching gig at the school for two seasons. Walters coaching career began at Valparaiso. During his playing career, he played in Spain and the ABA in addition to the NBA. The New Jersey Nets originally selected him 16th overall in the 1993 NBA Draft. Walters originally played in college at Northwestern but transferred to Kansas and let the Jayhawks to the 1993 Final Four. He is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and is Japanese-American.
