About Ray Whitney
Nicknamed The Wizard for his skill in passing and playmaking, Ray Whitney was a player in the National Hockey League. In his 17 years in the league he became one of the top 65 point producers in the history of the NHL, despite being one of the most underrated players in the game. Since becoming the 23rd overall pick in the 1991 NHL Draft, Ray has played for a list of different teams but has proved his worth with each thanks to his ability to make plays on the ice. His play has earned him several awards and honors including being a two time All-Star, and a Stanley Cup Finals victor. With more than 1,000 points in his career, Whitney is one of only 32 players in NHL history to record and overtime game winner in a seventh game in the playoffs, and is the only remaining active player from the San Jose Sharks inaugural team.
