Andre Dupont Biography

Andre Dupont is a former NHL player who gained prominence as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers in the mid-1970s. Dupont won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1974 and 1975 with Philly. Those Flyers’ teams were known as the “Broad Street Bullies” for their tenacity on the ice. He had his best season during the second Cup run, scoring 32 points and racking up 276 penalty minutes over 80 games. Dupont was also named an NHL All-Star in 1976. With nearly 2,000 career penalty minutes, his work as an enforcer was always highly regarded. In addition to the two wins, Dupont made two other Stanley Cup trips with the Flyers. Dupont also played for the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, and Quebec Nordiques over his 13 seasons. The defenseman was originally drafted by the Rangers in the first round of the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft. Dupont was born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec City, Canada.
