About Billy Jaffe
Billy Jaffe started out in hockey playing for the University of Michigan from 1987-1989 as a right wing. Since that time Billy served as the captain for the silver medal winning US team at the Maccabiah Games in 1997. It was shortly thereafter when Billy transitioned to broadcasting where he has become well-known to hockey fans everywhere. His career began when he became a pre-game, intermission, and post-game radio show analyst for the Chicago Blackhawks during the 1998-99 season. Jaffes biggest impact came when he joined Howie Rose as color analyst for the New York Islanders games. Working for the Islanders on the NHL on Versus network, he built a strong reputation around the NHL and with fans gaining him notoriety and popularity. Prior to the 2010-11 season Billy left the Islanders and the Versus network and joined NESN to work as an in-studio analyst for the Boston Bruins team.
