Rashad McCants

Rashad Dion McCants established himself as a professional basketball player who displayed his scoring talent and competitive drive throughout his college years and NBA and international competitions. During the 2003–04 season at the University of North Carolina McCants led the ACC in scoring with 20.0 points per game while helping his team win the 2005 NCAA Championship as he averaged 17.6 points per game and received All-ACC and third-team All-American recognition.

The Minnesota Timberwolves selected McCants as their 14th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft to bring his shooting abilities to the league where he reached his best scoring average of 14.9 points per game during the 2007–08 season. He spent eight years playing overseas from 2010 to 2018 while competing in various leagues throughout China, Brazil, Lebanon, Venezuela and the Philippines and other countries. In 2017 McCants returned to professional basketball when Trilogy selected him first overall in the BIG3 League draft and he led his team to victory while earning MVP recognition after scoring 22 points in the championship game.

McCants dedicates his time to entrepreneurship and podcasting while advocating for athlete empowerment through his private foundation which focuses on youth mentorship. Through his public statements McCants openly discusses his life journey and its media challenges yet he continues to advocate for athlete rights with great enthusiasm.

Rashad McCants currently resides in Los Angeles where he uses his post-playing career to speak publicly while mentoring others and building his entrepreneurial ventures.
