About Philippa Raschker
Philipa Raschker was born in Hamburg, Germany and fell in love with sports as a youngster, competing in swimming in gymnastics. Eventually she took up the sport of track and field at age 13. Raschker however, did not begin seriously competing until the age of 33. Too little too late does not apply to her however, as she has won over 109 Masters World Championships medals, including 79 gold, 22 silver and eight bronze, since 1980. She has also set more than 200 world and national age-group records in the sprint, jump, hurdle, pentathlon and heptathlon. She has also won 368 U.S. Indoor and outdoor titles and is the only athlete to ever be a top-five finalist for the prestigious James E. Sullivan Award, given to the nation’s top amateur athlete. Not one to set the bar low, her goal is to win over 150 Masters World Championship medals and over 100 gold medals.
