About Peter Gammons
Peter Gammons is one of the greatest sports writers to have ever lived. A three-time National Sportswriter of the Year and recipient of the J.G. Taylor Spin Award for outstanding baseball writing by the Baseball Writers Association of America, Gammons is one of the most trusted voices in the baseball world.
Gammons has earned respect from baseball and sports fans over a long and esteemed career. In the 1960’s he became a featured writer at The Boston Globe and served as a national baseball columnist for four decades. In 1988 he joined ESPN, offering up expert analysis on Baseball Tonight, SportsCenter, ESPNEWS and ESPN Radio. When the MLB Network launched it was a perfect fit for Gammons, who left ESPN to join the network after 20 years of valuable contributions.
In 2009 Gammons was honored by the city of Boston, who dedicated January 9 Peter Gammons Day for his contributions in journalism in the city over the last 50 years. His writing is more than just words, and his analysis provides insight that connects the reader and viewer to the subject unlike any other.
