About Pat Miletich
Pat Miletich is a former mixed martial artist and current sports broadcaster. He is most known for histime in the UFC, where he was the first ever UFC Welterweight Champion. Miletich began training at age26, and fought in various events, earning a perfect 15-0 record before signing with the UFC. At UFC 16,Miletich debuted and won the first ever Welterweight Championship Tournament at UFC 17.5. His firstprofessional loss would come at UFC 31, when he lost his championship by submission to CarlosNewton. After his next fight, a KO victory, Miletich moved up to the Middleweight division. Injurieswould slow down his career, but he was still dominant up until his retirement in 2008. Miletich retiredwith a 29-7 record, leaving MMA to open his own training facility. His facility, Miletich Fighting Systems,is considered one of the best training facilities in the world, and has produced multiple champions.Miletich also does broadcasting for ESPN, doing regular commentary for their MMA live segment.
