Brandon Vera

Brandon Vera is a professional mixed martial artist who is currently signed with the ONE FC promotion. Originally a high school wrestler, Vera earned an athletic scholarship to Old Dominion University, but he dropped out during his sophomore year to enlist in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Vera joined the wrestling team and trained at the United States Olympic training center. His military career was cut short in 1999 after he tore ligaments in his right elbow, earning him a medical discharge. Following his rehab, Vera trained in martial arts as well as grappling before full competing in mixed martial arts. In his first MMA fight, Vera defeated his opponent with a first round TKO, and he eventually moved on to compete in bigger tournaments around the country. After seeing his success as an amateur, the UFC signed Vera to a contract, and he made his debut with the company in October of 2005 with a KO victory at Ultimate Fight Night 2. Vera would go on to fight in the UFC for nine more years, compiling an impressive 13-7 record before signing with ONE FC, where he currently fights to this day.
